Advocates for homeless services are calling on the federal government to invest more to prevent domestic or gender based violence.

Kate Colvin, Homelessness Australia CEO says women can't leave violent homes as they don't have another home to go to, or if they do they get stuck in homelessness. She says "having homes people can go to that are affordable, is absolutely essential" and is calling on state and federal governments to invest more resources in housing to keep women safe.
