This week on the Africa Update Bibi chatted with Dr Emery Patrick Effiboley.

The Woman King film drops in cinema tomorrow, this film is based on women warriors of Benin, the Dahomey Warriors, or as correctly called, the Agoodjié. We also got to see these women on Black Panther. Therefore who better to teach us more about these incredible women warriors of Benin's history than Dr Effiboley, who's a Historian, Researcher and Lecturer at University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin.

Dr Effiboley chats with Bibi about the role the Agoodjié played in Benin's history, how Benin has reacted to seeing them on screen and what they teach us about gender in African history.
