This week's edition of Afrika in Focus examines the life and legacy of one of the greatest Afrikans that ever lived, Marcus Mosiah Garvey.

We examine the importance of Garvey to the Afrikan world in terms of his beliefs and ideology.

We explain what this belief was based on and how that belief became an Ideology known as Garveyism which at its peak attracted 5 million members  worldwide to his UNIA organization and built many businesses and enterprises.

We cite how without Garveyism the likes of Kwame Nkrumah, Patrice Emre Lumumba, Sekou Toure, Modibo Keita and Julius Nyrere would not EXIST.

We also detail that Marcus Garvey influenced organizations like The Nation of Islam, Rastafari movement, The African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem, Ethiopian Worldwide Federation (EWF), The Pan African organisation amongst many others.

We then delve into key tenets of Garveyism and articulate why these core principles of Garveyism are more important now than even in the days of Garvey.
