In the last few weeks, the continent has seen a number of conflicts erupt in Zimbabwe, Mali, Cameroon, Somalia and other nations. The question that has been on the lips of many researchers is whether or not there are enough resources being deployed to the peace and security interventions plaguing the continent. Since its inception in 2002, the African Union has been under pressure to resolve the extensive peace and security challenges facing the continent.
