After the Battle Campfire

On this solo episode I talk about the new Navadmin 225/21 which is know as the Covid-19 Vaccine Refusal guidance. To say there is anything subtle about this policy would be a joke. The Navy has choose to use a hammer in dealing with Sailors from E1-O10 if Sailors miss the mandatory date to be “Fully Vaccinated:.

On this episode of the podcast its the 1 year anniversary of the show and I bring back Joey Martinez the man who kicked it all off with me. We talk about Lt. Col Stuart Scheller and his pre-trial confinement. We also go down other rabbit holes about how we handled situations overseas and other issues.

Joey is the founder of the Devil Doc Talk Show and a cannibis enthusiast. You can find the devil doc talk show on iTunes.

I have added an update with the list of charges he is expecting to face.

Typically I don’t follow these types of things but the Lt. Col Stuart Scheller case has interested me for quite a while. Lt. Col Stuart Scheller was the Battalion commander for ITB-East before making a social media post about holding senior officers accountable for the Afghanistan withdrawal, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary of Defense. This morning I saw an article where he has be arrested and confined for pre-trail holding.

#Afghanistan #war #taliban

On this episode I do a solo cast with my thoughts on us leaving Afghanistan and how we may of done it better. Less armchair quarterbacking more being retrospective of opportunities that may of been missed. I also talk about my thoughts on what we left behind. In the end if your a veteran the question of was it worth it is one for you to decide, but my belief as an Iraq war veteran is if you touched and helped one persons life over there, then it was.

#wheelchair #wcmx #navy

Today I talk to Navy adaptive athele and former Ffire Controlman Rico Reyes. At 22 Rico joined the Navy at an age older than most. He became a Fire Controlman whose job is to fire the weapons on board a U.S. Navy warship. Some the weapons systems he was qualified to use were Surface to Surface missiles and the CWIS close in weapons system affectionally known as R2D2.

A motorcycle accident cut Rico’s career in the Navy short. It left Rico as a paraplegic. He discovered wheelchair sports during his recovery. The had is first Wheel Chair Motor Cross (WCMX) event in 2015 where he was ranked 4th in the World. He went on to compete for the US Navy team for the DOD Warrior games and the Invictus games. He was scheduled to compete with the 2021 Navy Team at the warrior games, which was cancelled last week.

Rico is also developing his own wheelchair for day to day use which can also take the abuse of an extreme athlete.

#sleep #seal #medicine

Today I had the pleasure of talking to Dr. Kirk Parsley a former Navy Seal who after his enlistment became a Medical Doctor and then focused his practice on sleep. Dr. Parsley attended the Uniformed Service University of Health Sciences where he earned his commission in the US Navy and his Medical Degree. He went to help stand up the SEAL’s Tactical Athlete program before leaving the Navy. He returned to Texas where he has a practice in the greater Austin area.

I first heard about Dr. Parsley on the Fundamental Health Podcast hosted by Dr. Paul Saladino. Dr. Parsley and Paul were the first to give deep insight into the COVID outbreak using data gathered from the Diamond Princess and the USS Harry Truman outbreaks.

You can find Dr. Parsley website below and his Sleep Remedy
