After years of work, sewer agreement reached that ensures Brigham City residents will not subsidize service in Mantua

The Brigham City Council has unanimously approved a new interlocal agreement with the Town of Mantua to continue providing wastewater treatment services, replacing an expired contract with a more detailed and financially balanced framework. The five-year contract, approved May 15, reestablishes Brigham City’s provision of wastewater service to Mantua under updated terms. Brigham City Administrator Derek Oyler told the council that although the previous agreement had expired, Brigham continued providing service in the interim and wanted to ensure new terms were clearly documented and enforceable. “I feel like I’ve been working on this new agreement for more than five years,”...
