Ag heritage zone approved for 573 acres near Thatcher

The Box Elder County Commission has approved the rezoning of more than 570 acres in the Thatcher area into the county’s newly created Agricultural Heritage Zone, clearing the way for the landowner’s pending application for agricultural protection status. Commissioners voted unanimously Aug. 27 to change the land from unzoned status into the heritage zone after the planning commission held a public hearing and recommended approval.
