The Kodiak Archipelago Leadership Institute is a community-based, non-profit organization based in Kodiak, Alaska. Their mission is to support the long-term sustainability of our region’s coastal communities of Alutiiq heritage. Valentina Romanovskaia, owner of Northern Beauty Alaska, makes skin care products from authentic Alaskan ingredients. In creating her products, Valentina uses moose, goat, and bear fat infused with wild Alaskan plants, and bee products from her own hives and local beekeepers. Valentina and Ken talk about how she moved to Alaska from Moldova in Eastern Europe and how and why she started her business.
