He had to go through Samaria on the way, and around noon as he approached the village of Sychar…
Jesus was tired from the long walk in the hot sun and sat wearily beside the well.
Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.
All too true! Jesus said. For you have had five husbands, and you aren’t even married to the man you’re living with now.
Just then his disciples arrived. They were surprised to find him talking to a woman… Then the woman left her water pot beside the well and went back to the village and told everyone, “Come and meet a man who told me everything I ever did! Can this be the Messiah?” So the people came streaming from the village to see him.
When they came out to see him at the well, they begged him to stay at their village; and he did, for two days, long enough for many of them to believe in him after hearing him.
Jesus knew that any ordinary moment can become a God moment!
● Start where you’re at
● Work with what you have
● Take one step
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
