Its not easy to leave the religion you are born in, but Allah has clearly said that 

“If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), it will never be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost.”   Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:85) 

So, its our responsibility to do research to find the truth and be honest to ourselves in accepting it, when we find it.
