Agility Island: leader vs scrum master (scrum master vs agile coach?)

What is the difference between a scrum master and an agile leader?  If you start with the scrum master, what should a scrum master be doing?  What would a leader do? the difference in the positions of scrum masters and agile leaders may not be as big as you think it is.
