💡 AI & Cyber Safety: Staying Grounded in a Digital World
In 2019, I experienced a cybercrime that shook me to my core. It wasn’t just financial — it challenged my confidence, my trust, and my sense of safety online.
Today, with AI creating content faster and more convincingly than ever, the digital world can feel overwhelming. Deepfakes, manipulated media, and sophisticated phishing are on the rise — and it’s easy to feel alone in navigating it all.
But here’s what I’ve learned: we are not alone, and there are steps we can take to protect ourselves.
1️⃣ Pause & Reflect
Before clicking, reacting, or sharing — stop. Take a moment to assess. Impulse is the hacker’s ally.
2️⃣ Ask: “Is This Real?”
AI can create content that looks real. Verify sources, cross-check information, and trust your instincts.
3️⃣ Lean on Your Community
Talk with friends, colleagues, and family about what you see online. Sharing knowledge strengthens everyone’s defenses.
4️⃣ Educate & Act
Knowledge is power. Learn the tools, understand the risks, and put simple, actionable steps in place to reduce future risk.
Cybercrime can feel isolating — but by pausing, reflecting, and connecting, we regain control. And together, we build a safer, more resilient digital world.
