AI-Powered Christmas Classic Gets Spanish Makeover

Universal Music Group and SoundLabs unveiled “Noche Buena y Navidad,” a Spanish AI adaptation of Brenda Lee's 1958 hit "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." Using AI from SoundLabs' MicDrop, vocals from Chilean singer Leyla Hoyle were transformed to resemble 13-year-old Lee’s original voice. Lee, now 79, authorized the release, embracing the new version as a way to introduce the song to a broader audience. This project highlights the music industry's dual strategy of embracing AI innovation while safeguarding artists' rights.
