If A.I. comes of age and we assume that all earth's critical systems are connected or controlled by it, even assuming A.I. is benevolent, would the resulting impact be human societal collapse? While people fear the loss of employment and financial stability from the evolution of A.I., or fear that A.I. may rise up, assert its dominance enslaving humanity, or even viewing humanity as inefficient and a deficit to its own evolution and physically destroy us, the main threat, according to some theorists is that humanity, once freed from purpose, will ultimately destroy itself.
