Episode Introduction

Welcome to a new episode of The Mentor Project podcast! Today hosts Dr. Susan Birne-Stone and Marco Ciappelli have a fascinating conversation with guests Mary Hagy, Matthew Griffin, and Caden Griffin. They will talk about artificial intelligence, taking you on a journey from its past to the present and looking ahead to the future.

During this episode, they'll dive into the exciting world of AI. They're going to clear up some of the common misunderstandings about what AI is and what it can do. AI isn't just about robots taking over the world, it's a tool that has huge potential to help us in many different areas, from medicine to transportation to entertainment. But like any tool, it's not all sunshine and roses. AI can present challenges too, and our hosts aren't going to shy away from those.

The conversation will cover a lot of ground, looking at the different ways AI is already being used and what we might expect in the future. They'll discuss some of the fears people have about AI, like jobs being lost to machines, and the ethical questions that come up when we let computers make decisions. At the same time, they'll highlight the good stuff AI is bringing us, and how it's already making life better in some surprising ways.

They'll also talk about the importance of using AI responsibly. It's not enough to just build powerful AI systems, we need to make sure they're used in a way that benefits everyone and minimizes harm.
