Andrew Romans is a successful, consistently top-decile performing venture capitalist with over 100 VC investments under his belt. He is also a VC-backed entrepreneur, four-time author, university professor, and host of the podcast Fireside with a VC. His career includes roles as a former tech VC and M&A investment banker, General Partner of 7BC Venture Capital, and founder and General Partner of Rubicon Venture Capital.

Romans’ books have been published by McGraw-Hill in English and by major publishers in Chinese, Japanese, Italian, and Russian. He also advises large corporations and governments on policies related to Venture Capital and Corporate Venture Capital (CVC). By the age of 28, he had raised over $48m for tech startups he founded. Throughout his career, Romans has founded numerous startups, raised hundreds of millions of dollars in VC funding, and led startups to

successful exits.

Previously, Romans served as Managing Partner at Georgetown Venture Partners (GVP), a venture capital-focused boutique investment bank with activity in the US, UK, Nordics, Europe, and Israel, and as a General Partner at Georgetown Angels, an active angel group with offices in Silicon Valley and New York City. He was also a General Partner at The Founders Club, a venture capital equity exchange fund and advisor on secondaries. Additionally, he was a Distinguished Professor of the Practice of Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital at Chapman University.

In addition to teaching a class on VC & entrepreneurship at Chapman University - one of California’s oldest universities - he has lectured on VC at institutions such as Stanford, Harvard, UC Berkeley, Santa Clara University, UC San Diego, Georgetown University, University of Toronto, London Business School, Imperial College London, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, University of Bologna, Moscow State University, Tsinghua University Beijing, and Shanghai University. He is also a frequent guest speaker on MSNBC, CNBC, and ABC and has delivered keynotes at major conferences in over 20 countries, including the US, Canada, Latin America, the UK, Nordics, Western and Eastern Europe, the Arabic and Israeli Middle East, Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Indonesia.

Fluent in English, French, and German, and conversant in Slovak, Romans holds a BA from the University of Vermont and studied in Paris and Berlin at École Active Bilingue (now École Jeannine Manuel), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and Freie Universität Berlin. He completed his MBA in finance from Georgetown University on a scholarship.
