On the program this week, part one of our chat with Matt Cooper from R90X. If you are not familiar, R90X offers a full line of front brake upgrades for your airhead 247 and is a proud independent product developer, which we love to feature here on the program. This was a long, in depth convo with Matt so we’ve split the interview up into two parts—first up is Matt’s origin story, so to speak, we’ll dig into a bike he’s had—seemingly forever and we’ll cover some general airhead brake talk—all in this episode. Part 2, which will air in a few weeks, will cover R90X product offerings and what the home mechanic can expect when doing a front rotor/disc conversion.

On the program this time we remember Brook Reams, who passed on June 13, 2025. How many times did so many of us reference his YouTube channel and website?..... countless. Brook’s work provided immense detail and inspired confidence to tackle the most basic and sometimes complicated jobs. Question about a part number or assembly procedure—odds are it’s there. Through those works, he left us a great record that will continue to inspire us and keep the 247 relevant for years to come. In this program we'll revisit the first interview with Brook which aired back in August of 2022, a sort of origin story, if you will. The latest edition Long Way Home is out now on Apple TV and this time Charley and Ewen are on vintage bikes—Ewan a 74 Moto Guzzi Eldorado and Charley on a R 75/5. Though we don’t give away much of how the bikes did in this interview, it’s safe to assume the /5 represented itself quite well and Charley has a pointed comment on how the 247 stacked up against the Guzzi.
