Carlos Gesualdo...16th century Italy nobility can do no wrong, right?  Even if it involves the gruesome murder of his wife and her lover, daily beatings, and hiding away to play his lute?  Gesualdo was a talent musician, composing hauntingly beautiful works still played today, but his road to musical fame left some thrown in the ditch.
