Akash is an amateur astronomer, astrophotographer, writer and science communicator. He is also a management committee member of the astronomical society of Singapore. He has been featured on; BBC world news, European Space Agencies both Instagram accounts, space.com's 100 Best Space Photos of 2016. He also conducts workshops on milky way and lunar astrophotography, outreach programs & talks on astronomy, light pollution.
