Akiko Thomson-Guevara is the most accomplished Filipina swimmer in the Southeast Asian Games. She was born in Washington, DC, although her family relocated to Manila when she was a child. She competed in three Olympics and won seven gold medals at the 1987 and 1991 Southeast Asian Games.
