Akoss Ofori-Mensah is an Africa Publishing Innovation Fund Committee Member. She is a Ghanian publisher and the founder of Sub Saharan Publishers, Accra. Akoss has served on the Ghana Book Publishers Association as the Honorary Secretary and Vice President. She was elected President of the Association from 2003-2005. She has been a member of the African Publishers Network (APNET), the IBBY Executive Committee, and sits on African Books Collective's Council of Management.

In May 2019, the International Publishers Association and Dubai Cares had a vision to support publishers across the African continent.
The result was a courageous initiative called the Africa Publishing Innovation Fund- An $800,000 fund to support literacy, book access, indigenous publishing, and library restoration.
