We learn what the term “Bid^a - innovation” means, linguistically, Islamically and how we differentiate between the good and bad innovation. Al-Bukhariyy and Muslim both narrated that the Prophet said, “whoever innovates in our religion a matter that doesn’t comply with our religion then it is rejected”. We learn from this hadith that if a matter complies with the religion then it is accepted.

Sheikh Ibrahim El-Shafie starts giving examples of innovations introduced by the companions at the time of the Prophet, then examples from the time of the companions; Abu Bakr, Omar, Othman & ^Aliyy their followers until our day today.
