In the third lesson of this series, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Shafie explains what a miracle is. Miracles only occur at the hands of the prophets and always support their cause and teachings. No other person can do anything which is similar or equal to a miracle to discredit a prophet. Some miracles include: the flow of water from between the fingers of Prophet Muhammad; and transforming the staff of Prophet Musa into a giant snake. Imam Ash-Shafi^iyy said, “For every miracle Allah granted a prophet, He granted Prophet Muhammad an equal or greater miracle.” Allah bestowed upon Prophet Muhammad the most miracles. The scholars said they exceed one thousand up to three thousand miracles.
