Today, we honor Alan Turing, who was born in 1912 in the United Kingdom and changed the 20th century on several levels. He is most known for cracking the Nazi Enigma code in WWII, hastening the end of the war. He is also called the father of computer science.
He was also a gay man living at a time when being gay was severely punished. Educated at Princeton University and King's College at Cambridge, he most likely saved 20 million lives yet sadly lost his life to 'suicide' after being chemically castrated.
