In 1984, fresh off the success of the album 1999, Prince did two things... He hired an unknown director to make a movie and he made what would become one of the best selling albums of all time to go with it. That album was Purple Rain. This week Sam has us dive into the album with the Minneapolis sound that cleverly combined funk and R&B into Rock and Pop. With songs that were recorded himself and some that feature The Revolution, there is only one man who could have pulled this off. His name was Prince... and he was funky.
