But for the sake of abridgment, would anyone consider taking crack at, say, War and Peace? Probably not. And a good editing job does more than make it easier on a reader. It opens the door for more folks to be willing to give a time a try.
It must have been s daunting challenge to shorten one of the greatest books of the 20th century, but this edition does just that. And while some Big Book thumpers will cry "Blasphemy", I say that any means of passing the message of recovery is a good one. While some words may be absent, the SPIRIT of the message is fully intact. And that is the language of the heart!
