Alevis in Germany, representations and organizing

Listen Later

We're joined by political scientist Efsun Kızılay to talk about the history of the Alevi diaspora within the diaspora from Turkey in Germany.

We adress their role within organized guestworkers from Turkey after the Anwerbeabkommen, the difficulties they faced & political allies they had and how they were often misrepresented in the diaspora, as well as in their home country and in Germany.

Also calling the Sivas massacre an anti-muslim attack is stupid, just to be clear.
