Alex "Army" Armstrong returns to the LPP!  Very few people in this industry work harder than Army and she is now seeing the fruits of her labour.   She tells us about her iF3 nominated, 3 part, web series, "Skier Rich".  She produced it for only $3000 and shares how that lead to her shooting for this year's Blank Collective Film "Feel Real".   Alex also had the opportunity to develop a brand new ski for RMU and  is able to tie that into her allyship for indiginous rights.  We round out the episode talking about contradictory sources of motivation, her Good Gear charity auction, Frankenboots and whether it's cool to walk a cat on a leash.   Enjoy! Emily Childs is one part of the three person crew of fun loving, hard charging skiers, The Blondes.   Earlier this year The Blondes released their film, "How Did We Get Here?" , which answers that exact question, sharing a quick look into the histories of the three athletes and friends.  Emily had a busy winter this year with several big ski trips and a lot of time spent in helicopters.  It's not exactly what you think though.  When not skiing spines in Alaska or shooting promo photos she works as a helicopter pilot and talks about the process of getting her licence.  Em also tells us about growing up at Troll Ski Resort, a small little area in BC that was founded by her Grandfather and operated by her mom. Janelle or "JY" as she is usually called made her way to Revelstoke after growing up in Calgary with the goal of becoming a pro skier.  There she met Tonje and Emily and formed The Blondes!  We talk about JY's summer job fighting forest fires in BC and how that led to her working on a soon to be released film, from HDWGH producers CK9 Sudios, portraying the dangerous job. Tonje grew up in Norway before making her way to Revelstoke where she met Janelle Yip and Emily Childs.  She tells us her version of the origin story of the Blondes from Revy to Whistler, filming for TGR and MSP,  their all for one attitude.    Tonje also spent those years simultaneously studying for her bachelors and masters degrees,  she suffered an injury early this season that she has, until now, kept quiet and she talks about her move to Arc'teryx and much much more. Marielle Thompson is the 2024 Ski Cross, Crystal Globe winner.  It's actually her fouth overall title which she can now place on the mantle alongside her gold and silver Olympic medals.  We talk about the evolution of Ski Cross as a sport and why Team Canada has been so dominant over the years.  She also shares how she manages the extensive travel spending weeks on the road at a time.  I ask her if she ever gets to ski any pow in between events and we talk also talk about our dogs and how she is also an excellent softball player.
