Alex Johnson QFSM has dedicated over 25 years of service to the fire community, starting with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service in 1992 before advancing to South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. Throughout her career, Alex has held numerous leadership roles, including Assistant Chief Fire Officer and Deputy Chief Fire Officer, culminating in her current position as Chief Fire Officer.
Alex is a staunch advocate for diversity and inclusion within the fire service, actively leading initiatives to support women and underrepresented groups. Her commitment to mentorship extends beyond the fire service, helping to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment. Additionally, she re-established South Yorkshire’s equality and inclusion group to promote a more inclusive workplace.
Recognized as the ‘Most Influential Woman in Fire,’ Alex Johnson continues to inspire with her dedication to excellence and her trailblazing efforts in fire service leadership.
