In early November 2014, Alexzander Samuelsson (Alex the Chemist) was an unemployed chemist, bored, and suffering from anxiety and depression. He had graduated from Ryerson University and in his thesis he was synthetically exploring thionylphosphazene polymerization behavior. He thought he had done everything right, yet, he was still unemployed. On his dad’s 50th birthday he decided to share a joint with him. Little did he know the path he was about to take.
Today, he is the for lead chemist for Nextleaf Solutions. He is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting experiments and scientific projects involving design and development of new extraction technology and the processes that extract targeted molecules from cannabis.
