In this episode I speak with Alhassan Issah about his perspective as an artist, how he developed his style by borrowing context of the daily happenings of the city to influence his art form.
He shares his core academic philosophy of going to collaborate with artisans, traders, farmers, food vendors to help bridge the gap of what is learnt in school and what is observed from the community in making art.
NB: This episode was recorded in June, 2022 and dated references made by Hassan about his work was for 2022. His latest work is with Compound House Gallery which features a 3 site solo exhibition which spans across 3 cities in Accra, Kumasi and Tamale. This is scheduled for January, 2023.
