Grace Humiston, known as "Mrs. Sherlock Holmes," founded her own law firm, was the first woman in a senior Department of Justice position, exposed the peonage system in the southern United States after the Civil War, & is especially known for her work on the Ruth Cruger case.

Alice Clement

The first female detective on Chicago PD, Alice Clement was a pioneer in the force.
