Acoustic and electronic music composer Alice Shields continues her discussion with musicologist Danielle Sofer. In Part 2, Shields speaks about the various positions she held at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center (CPEMC) and Columbia University's Computer Music Center (CMC). She also discusses some of the reasons why she was motivated to be so deeply engaged with the CPEMC as a technological environment and as a community of diverse creators. In Part 3, Shields goes on to describe the variety of electronic tools used throughout her career, and details the three periods of her electronic music output.
