Hello, makeup enthusiasts. This time, I want to share with you my special effects makeup process using a prosthetic nose I wore for a special effects competition in Lima, Peru, where I placed third. The character is an alien creature from the planet Volcad, known for its high temperatures due to volcanic activity. Given their appearance and extreme habitat, they are often referred to as alien demons.
The first step was crafting the prosthetic. Here is the previous post where I made it. Now, I will show you the makeup process to transform into the alien demon that earned me third place in the contest. The materials I used were:
Procedure:
The initial step was to apply Pros-Aide adhesive along the edges of the prosthetic using a cotton swab. I placed it on my face and then removed it to mark the area of the face where the prosthetic would be placed. Next, I diffused the Pro-Aide on my face and the mask with a dry hairdryer, as this glue bonds when dry, hence the need to speed up the process. Once both were dry, I applied the upper prosthetic, followed by the lower one.
Then, I started to apply neutral foundation on the prosthetic to match the skin tone, and black eyeshadow for the eyes and cheeks. I also used gold eyeshadow for the alien's teeth. After the makeup was done, I put on my cream and yellow colored contact lenses to enhance the eyes. I invite you to watch the video of the process and share your opinions and suggestions in the comments. I am very pleased with the result, and even though I didn't win first place, the experience was a success for me. Until next time!
