Alison Littlewood is the author of eight novels, two short story collections, a novella, and a novel written under the nom de plume “A.J. Elwood” called The Cottingley Cuckoo which was published in 2021 by Titan Books. Her novel A Cold Season was selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club, and her short stories have been picked for several best of the year anthologies. She won the 2014 Shirley Jackson Award for Short Fiction for her story “The Dog’s Home” – which is certainly one of the darkest pieces she’s written, and contains one of her most shocking endings – and has just this week been nominated for the ALCS’s Tom-Gallon Trust Award for her story “Swanskin” in the anthology After Sundown, edited by Mark Morris. Alison lives with her partner Fergus in deepest Yorkshire, England, in a house of creaking doors and crooked walls. She loves exploring the hills and dales with her two hugely enthusiastic Dalmatians and has a penchant for books on folklore and weird history, Earl Grey tea, and semicolons.
