Historically the Lord's Supper/Communion has been a divisive issue in the church, when in fact part of the meaning behind Communion is intended to be the opposite, unity. It is a visual reminder of our continual need for Jesus, that his broken body and poured-out blood are not just what makes us right with God (justification) but also what we depend on for closeness with God (intimacy).
