People think recording seems complicated because of all the technology, but that’s not the only hard part about recording music. On this episode, we look at the more social side of recording, and find out what kinds of barriers local musicians are facing, and how they find their own solutions to overcome them.

The music scene is Victoria is dominated by whiteness, despite their being a huge number of Indigenous and POC artists here. We talked to organizers, activists, and artists about how people are working to decentre whiteness, and go beyond an inclusion model to promote autonomy and leadership for Indigenous and POC folks in the music scene.

We look into how local musicians are finding creative solutions to this problem, and we parse out the systemic factors that led us to this situation.
