Given by Rev. Bijan Mirtolooi
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE | Luke 12:13-21
Idolatry isn’t just having or wanting bad things, but it’s turning even good things into ultimate things. Money is a great example of that: it can be stewarded as a gift from God, used in ways that are life-giving and community-building. But the human heart, curved in on itself (sin), can also turn a healthy desire for money into greed. This sermon explores the spiritual danger of greed, and how the practice of generosity enables a person to resist that danger.
