We can’t be saved by keeping law because we don’t keep it, and we can’t be saved by not keeping law, because law breakers stand condemned! How can this dilemma be resolved? Some have mistakenly developed a hatred for God’s law or tried to deny that we are under law to God. God resolves this law dilemma by giving us the law of Christ to live by and by providing the blood of Christ to redeem us from every lawless deed.

The power of God is limitless. He is the Almighty who does whatever He pleases and for whom nothing is too difficult. Habakkuk was frustrated with the ungodliness of Judah. How long would God allow it to continue? But after a meaningful dialogue with the Lord, Habakkuk sees that his place is to “wait on the Lord” and to “live by faith.” God would enable him to walk confidently on this high but difficult ground!

Sinners are to repent to receive forgiveness from God and man. Godly sorrow for sin leads to repentance. But too much sorrow may swallow up a person and stifle the process of repentance altogether. Do we want to see sinners repent or do we want to see them swallowed up? Every righteous person needs to remember how much he or she has been forgiven and on what basis.
