Frank Donio, S.A.C. discuss the history and religious significance of Allhallowtide: Halloween, originally All Hallow's Eve, the vigil of All Saints Day, celebrated on October 31st, the Solemnity of All Saints, began by Pope Boniface IV in 609 AD, November 1st, a Holy Day of Obligation, and the Commemoration of All Faithful Departed, All Souls Day, November 2nd, which has been observed since the 11th c.
