Continuing his series on the gospel of John, minister Aaron Hill picks up in John 6:30-40. Although the people have just witnessed the miracle of Jesus providing bread to a multitude, they still ask, "Then what sign do you do, that we may see and believe you? What work do you perform?" They compare His miracle to Moses providing manna in the wilderness. Jesus reminds them that Moses didn't provide the bread for them; it was His Father who provided for them, going on to say, "For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." When they remain focused on the physical, Jesus tells them plainly, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst." Knowing their unbelief, He declares to them, "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” Jesus IS the bread. He IS the only way. He is an all-satisfying Savior!
