Hello, welcome back to Kindred! We asked a friend for a prompt for today’s conversation and were given the meaty topic of idols. We all have them, whether we are aware of them or not. They creep into our hearts, often as innocent desires, but quietly and before we know it, they have taken the throne as idols. In this conversation we discuss what it looks like to first identify when a desire has become an idol and then to dethrone that idol, putting it back in its rightful place at the feet of Jesus. We get honest about some of our own struggles and lessons learnt in this area; most importantly that freedom is found in constant surrender and that nothing can satisfy us like Jesus can.
