[Recorded on 21st October 2017] ~ Scotland Loves Anime 2018 Special ~

It's been a while since our last podcast - which will be returning in November, so keep you eyes out for that - but with it being the month of October it means that the Scotland Loves Anime Film Festival has returned to showcase some of the latest anime films on the big screen!

As has become tradition, this special episode is dedicated to the Judges Award category of the festival, as Jeremy Graves and Andy Hanley welcome the Chairman of the Jury, Jonathan Clements back to the show to help guide discussion with three of the four judges from the festival this year:

-Kim Morrissy (Translator, Tokyo Correspondent for Anime News Network)

-Callum May (Runs The Canipa Effect on YouTube, writer for various publications including Crunchyroll, Anime News Network and Otaquest.)

-Roxy Simons (Journalist and film critic specialising in Japanese and Korean culture, Showbiz reporter for Mail Online.)

The purpose of this podcast is give you an insight into what led each member of the jury to cast their vote on the films in competition at the film festival. There are SPOILERS discussed in detail throughout this episode, so if you haven't seen any of the films it's at your discretion if you want to listen or not.

The four films in competition this year were as follows:

-Calamity of a Zombie Girl (discussion on this begins at 03 mins 53 seconds)

-I Want to Eat Your Pancreas (discussion this begins at 16 mins 09 seconds)

-Penguin Highway (discussion on this begins at 48 mins 52 seconds)

-Mirai (discussion on this begins at 1 hour 15 mins 05 seconds)

And then how the judges ultimately cast their votes is discussed from 1 hours 41 minutes 23 seconds.

We know a lot of people always enjoy listening to this show, and we hope you enjoy this episode too!

As mentioned earlier in this description, the podcast will be returning in November! So please keep an eye out for that. Until then, enjoy the the show~!
