All the Single Ladies is a novel by Dorothea Benton Frank that centers on three women brought together by the death of a friend, Kathryn Harper.
Lisa St. Clair is in dire straits. She lost all of her money in a failed yoga studio business and has been reduced to living in a home vacated by her parents' elderly friends. She is also estranged from her grown daughter, Marianne, who has chosen to live in Colorado to be near her father, Lisa's ex-husband, and to build a marijuana business. Lisa strongly disapproves of Marianne's choices and the situation has placed a firm wedge between mother and daughter.
Lisa works at a senior care home as a part-time nurse. There, she befriends Carrie and Suzanne as she treats their dying friend, Kathryn. When Kathryn passes away of cancer, Suzanne is named executor of her estate. No one knows if Kathryn has any family. In fact, they know little about Kathryn's past....

Great summary to Benton Frank's latest
I have been a fan of author Dorthea Benton Frank for quite some time. However, because I read such a high volume of books and belong to so many (too many) book clubs these days, I have started to make use of companion guides on many of my latest reads. "All the Single Ladies" is Benton Frank's latest and this summary and analysis has given me exactly what I was looking for keep things straight. A perfect way to get a good summary of the book, the key characters and themes, I'd definitely recommend these for anyone looking to get more out of this amazing and heartfelt journey by Benton Frank. Well done.
Three women, three different lives, all friends!
Meet three middle aged women: Lisa, Carrie and Suzanne, "thrown" together when Carrie and Suzanne's friend, Kathryn, dies. Lisa was the nurse helping to care for Kathryn in her last days. All three women are different (no clones here), having chosen and experienced different life situations. A mystery along with some danger are also elements of this story.
As you read this Instaread summary (think DETAILED review) you will get a glimpse into the details of the original book, All Single Ladies by Dorothea Benton Frank, but it also leaves some gaps so if you are really curious you are going to want to purchase the original. Following the story synopsis we then get a brief bio on ten of the main characters. The more detailed 'Character Analysis' section is SUPERB helping to fill out some of the gaps in the summary along with giving us some more of the nitty gritty on the major characters in the story.
The 'Character Relationships' section of this Instaread book focuses on Lisa with a variety of characters allowing you to understand her a little better. What themes are discussed? Due to all three ladies being single at the beginning of the book, it is no wonder that loneliness is an issue. Other themes are family, financial troubles, female empowerment, love, personal values, aging, marijuana and loss.
