In this episode, the two Matts do another really short ad to save time before their gig at a comedy club, have far worse audio quality than usual due to complications at our usual studio, threaten other writing podcasts so that we can remain number 1, and talk about writing characters that are allegories of real or legendary figures in the first in our set about allegories. What are the benefits of having your character be an allegory for someone more well-known? How can you keep it from being too on-the-nose? Why would you want to do this versus have more unique characters? What is the punchline of Matt Donald's joke in that comedy club and why will it definitely not get him cancelled? We discuss it all, while being perfect Christ metaphors because we share our name with the first book of the New Testament, and talk about Superman, Robin Hood, The Bible, and Matt Donald's own Megazoic: The Primeval Power, an equally notable work as those other three for sure.
