We are still looking at the story of Jonah. We are looking at this from the aspect that Jonah had found himself in a most uncomfortable situation. A situation which began due to his deliberate attempt to flee form the presence of the Lord. Anyone willing to admit to yourself now. Only your self is all I ask. But admit to yourself that you have done the very same thing. Knowing human nature I would say that everyone hearing my voice has at one time or another in an attempt to satisfy your worldly flesh in which you reside in has at least started out to flee from the presence of the Lord if it were possible to do so. Think about that a moment as we look at what lead to this very uncomfortable situation for Jonah and how this could relate into your very own life and situations. Jonah sets out to flee from the presence of the Lord. Knowing the Lord as Jonah did this must have made him somewhat uncomfortable in its self, and certainly the storm at sea did not help matters at all. Do you think that just maybe the reason Jonah went down into the belly of the ship to sleep was at least in part due to his being in such an uncomfortable situation think I will sleep it off and when I awake I will be far, far away in Tarshish- On this storm frightened and caused the ships men so uncomfortable that they sought to find the reason for this great storm. Jonah has gone to very uncomfortable as he goes before the ships men and lots are drawn and the lot falls on him. Does he now realize there is no escape form the presence of the Lord or does he consider that just maybe at the bottom of the sea he shall find escape.
