Americans don't associate African Americans with wealth because of a very simplistic answer. If you’re an athlete or entertainer they're comfortable with them being wealthy. It's considered unusual to see wealth in the business world be diverse.

In the united states more African Americans are becoming millionaires. Today the number has doubled over the past 25 years. One in 50 black families is a millionaire which is like part of a new black upper class in the county. What we don't recognize or don't hear enough of is the different black elites who make up 3% of the African American population.
