There's the perception of doctors... and then there's reality. We go through so much on a daily basis full of emotional highs and lows; medical miracles and devastating diagnoses; and those exams. So. Many. Exams. Dr. Brittney Culp is a busy trauma surgeon who started out her medical career aspiring to be a dermatologist. She traded in a "comfortable", low stress career for an unpredictable, BUSY, and hectic career in trauma surgery. She did the research. Put in the MANY years of training. And sacrificed left and right. But, she eventually reached a breaking point and almost QUIT. Dr. Culp candidly shares why she almost left medicine and why she decided to stay. Surgeons do have emotions. It's okay to feel overwhelmed. Realizing when you've reached your limit...  BURN OUT is real. And it's about time that we acknowledged it openly and without judgement.
