Today’s topic is men’s mental health, specifically Black men mental health. We have a special guest on today: Miles Collins, 4th year undergraduate at USC and activist. Recently, Miles organized an exclusive Black men mental health discussion at USC, which we thought was very powerful and amazing for him to have hosted at a PWI. 

We talk all things mental health, being vulnerable as a man in today’s society, being a Black male in modern society and how stigmas play a part in our mental health and wellness.

As we discuss trauma, we are going to be heavily discussing the research we have done on trauma and different types of trauma-informed care, primarily yoga as trauma therapy and how trauma plays into activism, social justice, and law. 

We hope that creating the space to talk about something like this will inspire listeners to continue on their healing journey, because it is through that that our mental health will begin to evolve.

It is our generation that must take steps to change the negative stigma associated with mental health in the Black community, and talking/being vulnerable about it is the first step!!
