Eight years after she washed ashore a New Jersey beach, schoolteacher  Samantha (Geena Davis) still has no idea who she was prior to washing up on  the beach. However after a car crash unlocks skills she never knew she  had, she set out with private detective Mitch (Jackson) to find out the  truth about who she really is. However there are those keen to make sure  she never remembers.
